Committees

Committees offer our members the opportunity to help make our organization an educational and worthwhile experience. Serving on a committee is a great way to interact and get to know your fellow members. If you even have one hour per week to give, you can contribute!

Read on and contact Susan Hutchinson at president@ncsgmp.org for more information on how you can contribute. I get the most out of something when I feel part of it.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee is the voice of NCSGMP through our newsletter, and the website, www.ncsgmp.org. In addition, the committee manages chapter social media sites, communicates with chapter members via email about upcoming events, and solicits advertisement and sponsorship sales.

Communications reaches out to chapter members and the board for articles and news.

Want to hone your social media posting skills? Is your property expanding or do you have exiting news to share? Write an article on a supplier property and surrounding area and at the same time learn something new about our state. Are you tech savvy and willing to write about the latest tech/IT/computer trends? Tell us the latest restaurant or craft beer brewery openings in your area. Do you have wonderful recipes, have a home hack to share that will make life easier? If you answered yes to any of the above, we would love to have you contribute!

Community Service Committee

The community service committee researches charitable organizations or community projects in which to involve the chapter. Examples:
Participation in an activity (ie. teams for walks, volunteer to staff community events such as telethons, walks, festivals, participate in Habitat for Humanity, meals at the Ronald McDonald house, etc…),

And non-participatory events (ie. Canned goods collection, coats, blankets, fans, backpacks for needy, involve us in things like Wreaths Across America, toy drive for the holidays).

Also, work with supplier members in the area to provide either complimentary or deeply discounted overnight rooms for members from outside the service area when participating in community events for the chapter. Research and present community projects to the board, and collect and deliver donated items.
